Our work with minerals goes far beyond just selecting raw materials. Every stone our customers take home has a story—and a long journey—behind it. In May 2025, we traveled to China to visit our partner workshops in the provinces of Fujian and Guangdong. It’s there that some of the unique pieces you’ll find in our collection come to life.
It all starts with the raw material, which we source from all corners of the world. Most recently, we brought back stones from Brazil during our visit in February—but also from Madagascar and Uruguay. The unprocessed minerals first arrive at our workshop in Plzeň, where we carefully inspect and sort them by quality, color, size, and type. Once selected, they’re sent to our colleagues in China, who create a sample from each material based on our specifications.
The sampling phase is one of the most crucial steps in the entire process. Every design goes through detailed consultation—we fine-tune the dimensions, shapes, and cuts to ensure the final product not only meets our standards, but also preserves the natural beauty of the mineral. Only once a sample is approved do we move forward with producing the full series.
In China, we work with several small workshops where everything is crafted by hand or using simple machinery—with a strong focus on quality and a deep sensitivity to the stone itself. The experience these artisans bring to the table is truly invaluable. They know exactly how to cut each type of stone, how to preserve its natural pattern, and how to shape it in a way that highlights its beauty while staying true to our vision.
An important part of our partnership with the Chinese workshops is our focus on the working environment and employee conditions. The teams work in clean, well-maintained spaces, have access to an on-site canteen serving healthy meals daily, and the option of accommodation directly within the workshop grounds. The rooms are simple but functional, providing a comfortable place for workers to rest after their shifts.
Most of the employees commute from surrounding areas, so having this on-site accommodation offers them greater comfort and convenience.
During our travels, we once again had the chance to see everything with our own eyes—from the very first samples to the finished product lines, ready to be shipped back to us. We’re grateful to have reliable, skilled, and fair partners who not only understand their craft but care about the final result just as much as we do.
